   Kigali to Akagera

   Arrival and drive east to Akagera National Park, with an evening game drive on the way in.

   Day 2 · Akagera National Park

   Akagera game drives

   Full day looking for lions, elephants, giraffes and rhinos across the savannah.

   Day 3 · Akagera National Park

   Lake Ihema

   Morning boat trip among hippos, crocodiles and water birds, then the drive to Musanze.

   Day 4 · Volcanoes National Park

   Gorilla trek

   One hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family high on the volcano slopes.

   Day 5 · Volcanoes National Park

   Twin lakes or Dian Fossey hike

   Choose a walk to Lakes Burera and Ruhondo, or the hike to Dian Fossey’s grave.

   Day 6 · Kigali

   Back to Kigali

   Return to Kigali for an afternoon of craft markets and coffee.
